CLASS VISIT TO THE BT YOUNG SCIENTIST AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION AT THE RDS.
On Friday 13th January 2017, a lucky group of fifth class pupils were taken by teachers Ms. Kinsella and Mr. Murray for an exciting trip to the RDS to check out all things scientific at the Young Scientists show. The pupils began their trip in the main exhibition hall where they visited demonstrations that piqued their interest. Secondary pupils from all over Ireland explained their investigations and communicated the results of the projects that they had worked hard on for the past few months.
It was interesting to visit the primary science fair to see what other primary schools country-
Following this the group visited the ‘World of Science and Technology’ space. The best part about this was how interactive many of the exhibits were and how friendly and welcoming the exhibitors themselves proved to be. The group met everyone from ecologists to engineers to artists to members of the emergency services.
One of the highlights of the day was the group attending a show in the BT Arena featuring the amazing Titan, a larger than life sized robot. In fact, Titan stood at 8ft tall!! He looked just like a Transformer! The group were absolutely transfixed by his antics. A thrilling end to an amazing day.
Many thanks to Fiona, SNA in the junior corridor, for getting complimentary tickets for the group – we had a brilliant day!
