We now have four Green Flags in our school! We received our fourth green flag for travel in June 2015! For this flag we had to promote green travel in our school and encourage children to think about reducing the amount of emissions going into our atmosphere. We have WOW, COW and SOW days every Wednesday whereby the children are encouraged to walk, cycle or scoot to school.
We were awarded a grant for a new bike shelter to store our bikes and scooters in a safe and dry place!

We organised a bling your bike day which was a huge success! We also went on a bike trip during our Active week in June 2015!
We had competitions every month to see what class had the most amount of children cycling and walking to school.

We are now working towards our fifth green flag for Biodiversity. Biodiversity is the huge variety and variation of life that surrounds us. Biodiversity is essential in keeping the environment healthy and fit for human life. Not only do we rely on biodiversity but our activities also have an effect on it.

The overall aim of the Biodiversity theme is for our school to increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity and for students and staff to come up with ways in which we can help biodiversity. This can be achieved through improving or preserving our local biodiversity whether it is in our school garden, at home, a green space in the locality, the canal way etc. Our school will have the opportunity to play a vital role in promoting and preserving biodiversity both locally and globally.
Our biodiversity day of action will be on the 23rd of May 2016
